Their Learning Materials and Innovation

Teachers and students were using Pearson’s textbook, Gold Experience B1+ Pre-First for Schools. This textbook contains grammar, reading and comprehension, writing, vocabulary, listening, and speaking. It also offers conversational activities which the students were able to be trained in these target skills. Each student and their parents had the access on both physical and online textbook. Its purpose was to easily track the progress of the students, not only by their teachers but also to their parents. This was a complete material that includes all needs to teach and measure the students learning. Audios and visuals can be accessed through online which makes it more suitable to the learning preferences of the students, since the students can be considered digital natives. When it comes to the presentation, the teacher incorporates photos that were related to the lesson and audios of example conversation where the grammar rules were applied.

Sources of learning and technology used by the teachers

The main source of the students’ learning was their structured learning environments with the teachers, curricula, and their assessments. Through the textbooks and workbooks, the students were able to gain structured knowledge and learned from the practice exercises. Students can apply the theoretical knowledge that they received from the teacher’s lecture and presentations then divert that knowledge into real-life situations through practice exercises. This bridged the gap between learning and implementation, enhancing understanding, and developing the students’ skills.

Furthermore, since their textbooks were available online; this gives them flexibility and accessible learning opportunities. There were transparencies on their progress and matters that needs improvement. This way much easier to cure the loosing interest of the students in learning.
